| Description: |
The Maitland Valley Conservation Authority (MVCA) is seeking consulting services to undertake the MVCA Hydrology Modelling Project (the Project). The Project will be initiated in 2026 and must be completed by February 2027. The purpose of the Project is to develop a hydrologic model for the Maitland River and Nine Mile River watersheds. The model will primarily be used for flood forecasting, while also providing suitable outputs to support future floodplain mapping projects. Based on a review of model options, staff have selected the US Army Corps of Engineers HEC-HMS model to be developed for the Maitland River and Nine Mile River watersheds. There is no existing watershed scale hydrology model. In 2018, MVCA commissioned the development of a HEC-HMS model for the Harriston subbasin. Currently, this Harriston HEC-HMS model serves as the primary flood forecasting tool used by the MVCA. The successful Consultant Team must possess sufficient resources to meet the project timeline and skills in the following areas:
In addition to technical qualifications, the Consultant Team must exhibit such skills as diplomacy, tact, strong communication ability (both written and oral), and a demonstrated history of working successfully as a team. |
